Seakayaking experience in Stockholm archipelago

Shallow coves and narrow straits will be all yours on this trip among the outer skerries in the beautiful seascape of the Stockholm archipelago. The water is clear and you will get close to fish as well as sea birds and plants. A nice little pension will be you base, so you will eat well, sleep well and be well taken care of.

Come as you are, with just a little previous experience in kayaking, and take it as it comes! You choose your own kayak. Whether you prefer a fast one-man kayak or a more spacious and stable two-man kayak or something in between, that is up to you.

After a briefing in paddling techniques and safety measures at base camp Gräddö on Rådmansö, you pack your food and personal belongings into the kayak’s waterproof compartments. Squeaking sea birds will accompany you as you take your first paddle strokes and head for the little island of Fejan with its pension and renowned restaurant. This will be your base and there will be plenty of good food as well as a wood heated sauna for you to enjoy. The island is rich in history and you will be able to share some of its secrets during a guided walk around the island. The colourful beach meadows covered in wild pansies and orpines will invite you to do some more walks.

Depending on the wishes of the group you will have several options for your kayaking day trips. Whether you end up paddling through a natural system of canals or around the outermost skerries where fishermen lived some hundred years ago, you can rely on lots of nice coffee breaks as well as a nice swim or two and perhaps glimpses of the White-tailed Eagle and seals.

Prior knowledge:
Fairly fit and able to swim and some previous experience in kayaking.
