Meet Spring at the archipelago

During the months of May and June, the Swedish archipelago is offering its best flower show. What a better way to greet the spring than to spend a weekend paddling in the Stockholm's archipelago?

The new hit for this season is a tour that takes you through the idyllic inner archipelago to historic "Ängsö", one of our smallest and oldest National Parks. This beautiful island is well known for its historical heritage. Here you can see a farming culture that is in symbiosis with the archipelago nature. However, what the island is mostly famous for is its richness of orchid species. This tour gives you the opportunity to discover this unique flora together with our own tour guide and the islands ranger, Björn that lives on the island.

All our tour leaders have extensive experience as tour guides and are certified instructors.

Saturday
This weekend trip start at 9.30 at our premises at Västernäs. The day will start with the tour guide showing how to best pack the kayak, give some hints on paddling techniques and how to safely get in and out of the kayak.
When we are ready we will start paddling through the beautiful inner archipelago and here we will have our first experience of the amazing spring flower show. We will stop at one of the lovely islands we pass, to explore a little and in this relaxing atmosphere enjoy a tasty lunch. Arriving at Ängsö, we will first invite you for tea or coffee and then the ranger will takes us to see the beautiful pearls of the island. The island tour will last for two hours.
After seeing the orchids you will paddle to a nearby island and set camp. The dinner will be a joint project and gives you the opportunity to touch up your outdoor cooking skills. We will make a delicious dinner with the best seasonal local products. The dinner will be enjoyed in the wonderful spring atmosphere in the archipelago.

Sunday
When the bird songs wake you up then it is time to stand up to have breakfast. Maybe someone is brave enough for a refreshing morning dip before take off? Today we will paddle to "Stora Stensholmen" an island with a diverse nature. Here you can see both pine forest and ancient meadow fields. From the knowledge learned from Björn - the ranger we can see if we have the luck to spot orchids.
After a wonderful day kayaking in the archipelago we will arrive at Västernäs around 16.00.
