Adventure in the Stockholm Archipelago

Join this guided three-day adventure into the northern Stockholm Archipelago, a
vast water landscape with barren rocks but also full of greenery and birdlife. During
this premium experience, you will explore the best of the northern part of Stockholm
archipelago by paddling in a small group, participating on a guided fishing trip and
enjoying some of the best local cuisine. You will experience a range of
accommodation, staying one night in a tent on a small island overlooking the sea
and another in a lovely little archipelagic hotel.

DAY 1: JUST GETTING OUT THERE
The Stockholm archipelago is quite unique, with over 30 000 islands, islets, and skerries. The northern part of
Stockholm’s archipelago is a place that is truly a pleasure for all the senses, enjoyed by Swedes and travelers today
but also in the old days where royalty and Swedish cultural icons such as August Strindberg and Astrid Lindgren
spent their summers in Furusund.
Upon arrival at Furusund, you will be welcomed by the staff at Furusund Värdshus who will take care of your luggage.
Then you will go by boat for an hour’s journey, straight out to the tranquil archipelago of Roslagen where you will be
joined by a guide from Kajak & Uteliv. This is the remote part of the archipelago that we have hand-picked for your
adventure. After being all geared up and enjoying an outdoor lunch, you will be kayaking through one of Stockholm’s
most treasured water trails. Enjoying the breathtaking scenery and catching a glimpse of open horizon from the
cockpit of you kayak. Of course, there will be a break for that well known traditional Swedish Fika. On the return to
your island, you get to embrace the adventurer in you by setting up your own tent which for this first night will serve
as your accommodation. Accompanied by a private chef trained in the wilderness cuisine with exclusively local
produce over a blazing fire, you’ll enjoy a three-course dinner before watching the sunset from your tent.

DAY 2: HAPPY FISHING ON THE WAY TO FURUSUND
As a new day breaks, breakfast is served outdoors by our chef, making the most of the surroundings and proximity
to nature. A full day of activities lies ahead starting with a fishing trip with some of the best guides, these people
have a great expertise and is familiar with every bay, the small hidden islands and the good spots. We will utilize
sustainable methods by catch and release and will also enjoy a homemade lunch on the boat before docking at
Furusund in the afternoon.
You check into the Furusunds Hotel and Restaurant, a lovely boutique hotel, and your double rooms with seaview.
This hotel lies tight by the canal with the sea as its nearest neighbor. Furusundsleden – one of Stockholm
archipelago’s main waterways has been used for centuries by seafarers to head east and is still used by the large
cruiseships on voyage into the Baltic. Furusundsleden was first mentioned in writing in the 13-th century. During the
19th century, the little town of Furusund became known in Sweden and abroad as a bath and spa resort. So here,
the primary focus is to relax. Enjoy a relaxing sauna in the hotel spa before dinner. The evening begins with a predinner drink, followed by a three-course dinner at the inn, prepared from local and food of the season and a chance
to share your best fishing stories of the day.
DAY 3: EXPLORING FURUSUND
What better way to start your third day than to enjoy a hearty breakfast buffet in the lovely orangerie at the inn. The
third day is reserved for a cultural guided walkthrough of Furusund, a chance to be engulfed in genuine Swedish
archipelagic culture. Gaze at the sailboats anchored at the harbor and the traditional Swedish red cottages that
proudly weather all seasons. Furusund is a gentle reminder of the fantastic heritage of this northern archipelago.
Subsequently, lunch is provided at the Inn before saying goodbye to Stockholm archipelago for now.
